Conversations on the Bible, 1829
Jacob Abbott was teaching philosophy and mathematics at Amherst
College in 1924 when he joined a secret literary society at the Andover
Theological Seminary called The Exadelphoi. A requirement at the
Society was that each member create a palindromic pseudonym. Thus,
Erodore was created. Using the Erodore name he wrote the book shown
here.
This little 112 page monograph only had one edition. It was
printed
by T. R. Marvin for the Massachusetts Sabbath School Union. There are
numerous fold-out maps related to biblical geography included within
his book.
