The four books of the Young Christian Series were published by a number of publishing firms before and after the books were introduced as the Young Christian Series. Those editions are discussed in the non-series section of this website.

These book are for all ages and are intended to introduce and guide people into Christianity.

In 1851 the Young Christian Series was published by Harper and Brothers with three books:
1. Young Christian
2. Corner Stone
3. Way To Be Good

All three books were newly copyrighted in 1851 by Harper and Brothers. The series consisted of three books until 1855

4. Hoaryhead and McDonner

In 1855 the fourth book, Hoaryhead and McDonner was added to the first three books in this series. Previously Hoaryhead was copyrighted and published by Crocker and Brewster in 1838. McDonner, a sequel to Hoaryhead was copyrighted and published by Crocker and Brewster in 1839. The combination book was first published by Harper and Brothers in 1855.

All the newly published Harper and Brothers editions were said to be "Very greatly improved and enlarged". They are 7.75 x 5.25

Harper and Brothers editions were published in 1851, 1852, 1855, 1859, 1861, 1870, 1872, 1873 and 1880. A memorial non-series edition of the Young Christian was published by Harper and Brothers in 1882.
