Conversations on the Bible, 1829

Jacob Abbott was teaching philosophy and mathematics at Amherst College in 1924 when he joined a secret literary society at the Andover Theological Seminary called The Exadelphoi. A requirement at the Society was that each member create a palindromic pseudonym. Thus, Erodore was created. Using the Erodore name he wrote the book shown here.

This little 112 page monograph only had one edition. It was printed by T. R. Marvin for the Massachusetts Sabbath School Union. There are numerous fold-out maps related to biblical geography included within his book.
